Hi All,

I recently upgraded my computer to an MSI GTX 770 and was a little bit surprised at how low my 3Dmark 11 score was. My current specs are:

i5-3570k
MSI GTX 770 2GB
Vengeance 8gb 1600
2 120gb SSD's
ASROCK Z77 Board
Seasonic 620w PSU

I compared my 3Dmark score to others with the 3570 and GTX 770 and found that I was near the bottom of the list with a score of 6,277 when many others were in the 7,900 range. Any idea why this is? If I left out any pertinent info then please let me know. Also, with this same build with my Radeon 7850 I scored a 4,100.

Your processor might be the problem, it will reduce your score in the CPU test, and the CPU+GPU test, from what I see it's fine, you could always try to overclock, but it is not recommend it if you don't know what you are doing. Even if you did you won't see a major or significant improvement in your gaming overall.

never ever base your PC performance off a benchmark, they are never a true indicator. If gaming performance is how it should be, base it on that. The CPU is great, a very good one to today's standards.

Thank you, I will keep that in mind. My main point of confusion was that people with the same cpu/gpu combo are getting much higher scores.

That doesn't really explain the problem though because I'm comparing my score to other people with the exact same cpu/gpu combo and their scores are much higher.

Are they using an overclock CPU? Sometimes results vary depending on drivers as well. I think 3dMark shows if people used an overclock or not during the test.

They have probably overclocked their cpu and gpu really high. Most people who contribute to benchmarks have overclocked as far as they could, just to get higher points on those benchmarks...

The ones in the top 100 are probably all water with 1350Mhz+ on the gpu core and cpu's probably in 4.7-5.0Ghz range. If you're all stock then you get the idea.

That is a possibility but out of 5,785 results with the same specs as me I was ranked 5,652. It seems pretty unlikely that there would be that many people ahead of me just because of overclocking.

Don't pay so much attention to the scroe, how much fps do you get in games?
Waht are your CPU and GPU clocks set to?

if you overclock the 770 for 1200mhz+ you will get a boost in your score. if your seeing others getting high scores its likely they are over clocked much higher than your 1085mhz core clock.
