I am buying Lenovo y50 laptop which is specified with 4gb nvidia gtx 860m graphic card. But I heard all 4gb cards are Kepler based.Even I got assured buy their sales agent I want to ask community..
I just purchased the y50 with 4gb gtx860m and i can assure you that it is based on maxwell architecture ...its gpu code is gm107 which basically tells you that it is maxwell based on kepler ...hope this helped
So is that a yes or no? According to the article, there is only a 2GB version of the card. I really want to know as well. Should I just trust the Lenovo sales rep, or are they just completely lying?
Oh and another thing to consider before buying the Y50 is that it has a TN panel.

On the official lenovo webite it says "Up to GTX 860M 4GB (Maxwell)" and a number of other forums have people posting that the 2GB & 4GB are maxwell. Games like skyrim rely on a big amount of VRAM (not more than 2GB I think) but I would go for 4GB because firstly there isnt much of a price difference between the two models and also I would like my laptop to last me a while.
