hello. I have 2 questions today. atm Im running a asus gtx 650 ti 1 gb. I been looking around and was wandering if I should upgrade to 2x gtx 650 ti boost and put them in sli, should I go for it or save up and buy a bigger card. and if I do buy 2 sli 650 ti boost cards will they be able to run next gen game and look purty.

at the moment im running
intel core i3-3240 cpu 3.40ghz
8 gb ram
im on a 1440 x 900, 75hz screens 2

also im still at school in my last year so buy a real pricy card like the gtx 690, titan, 780, 790 arnt really an option that said I do have a job. thanks =)

More about : gtx 650 boost sli worth gen gaming

don't go from 650Ti to boost, go for one better single GPU instead, you'll prefer it much better.

650Ti Boost SLI is ok, but for next gen games it will still do ok if you want to do medium at your resolution.

A Good card for a reasonable price to get would be a Gigabyte Windforce 3x R9 290 4GB.

If you already had a 650 ti boost and a SLI capable motherboard, then I would say yes, but as you only have a regular 650ti I would recommend just getting a single better card.

While you are still running an i3, I would look at the GTX 760 and R9 280.

he has the 650Ti, not the boost, but wants to get two boosts.

For the same money you could easily get a really great single 760 and for just a little bit more a good 770. Either of these in single config will blow two 650 ti boosts out of the water under most practical circumstances.

also, when games don't support SLI (Quite a few), your using a single GTX GTX 650ti Boost. that is a big factor.

I did?

"If you already had a 650 ti boost"

He said;

"atm Im running a asus gtx 650 ti 1 gb" then... "upgrade to 2x gtx 650 ti boost"

He wants to get 2. i do know what else you said, which are good options.

Yeah I know. My point was that it only made sense IF he had a 650 ti boost already, which he doesn't.

agreed, I was stating that he had a GTX 650Ti, but yes, your other options are good, Going for a better single GPU'd card is best.

how is that offtopic? He is the OP!

You don't need the model number, how will it make a difference? The resolution and Hz is all you need, which is listed.

thank you's all for you answers. after reading all of you comments, I understand. a single card is defiantly better. I was going spend about 350$ and am willing to spend 300 to 400 dollars on a video card. so the big question is for the 300 to 400 price mark what is a good card to get for future/ next gen gaming.

Yes, defaintly is. I would strongly recommend this card;

Asus R9 290 DirectCU II;

Under $400 and is the best card you will get for the price, great for next gen gaming.

What is you budget as you would be much better with a single more expensive GPU than 2x 650 ti boost?

GTX 770 is much faster then 760, if you want the best choice, then easily GTX 770. If you want the best choice between GTX 770 and R9 290, easily the R9 290, that is comparable to the GTX 780.

nope, a cheap board with a PCI-E X16 slot can support it. Your system can support it, even an i3. Make sure you have a decent PSU, what is it?
