I'm planning to move my old hard drive from my Windows 7 Ultimate, Service Pack 1, 32bit PC to this PC as an additional hard drive:

Processor: Intel® CoreTM i5-4670 3.4GHz Haswell

Processor cooler: CoolerMaster Blizzard T2

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H87M-D3H H87 Chipset

RAM: Geil 2X4GB DDR3 1600Mhz Enhance Corsa

Graphics card: Gigabyte Nvidia GeForce GTX650 2G-5

Hard drive: Western Digital Blue 1TB SATA3 7200RPM 64MB

LG Sata DVD x24

On-board 7.1 Channel Audio

On-board 10/100/1000

Power supply: CoolerMaster Gxii 550W

Case: CoolerMaster Elite 311

Windows 7, 64bit.

Will the old hard drive and it's programs conflict with the new PC in some way? Does it matter that I'm transferring a hard drive from a Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit PC to a Windows 7 64bit PC? Is there even a difference between Windows 7 Ultimate and Windows 7?

Solution

If you have the CD/DVD use them to re-install the programs. Some other programs (free) can be downloaded from their websites. I did this painstaking process when I re-installed Windows; same Win 7 Pro on the same computer just to get rid of some malware..
The old drive shouldn't cause any problems as a second drive for storage in your new PC.

Just don't expect to be able to run any existing Windows or program installations that are on it.
Reformat it's partitions to claim back the capacity for data storage.
You can do that in Disk Management after you've installed it in the new PC.

No the programs wont conflict with your new system but none of them will work as there is no registry allocations on your new system. The differences between windows 7 32bit/64bit and the versions can be found here.

I recommend wiping your old drive and reinstalling any software you want fresh.

How will I be able to get all of the old programs? I have tons of programs, files, programs I don't even know and don't want to risk losing, settings, hidden files, etc. etc.
How will I get all those back? Also, will Windows 7/pro fit the PC I mentioned?

No, that is not the solution.

Stay with the 64-bit system so that you can add as much RAM as the motherboard will support and to satisfy your needs. 32-bit systems have a max RAM of 4 GBs of which some is set aside for the system. The usable RAM is only 3.6 GBs or thereabouts.

"can't" is not an operative word in this situation.

If you wish to use those applications with the new OS, you must reinstall them.

Is there absolutely no way to transfer all my paint files, word files, games, settings, programs to the new PC?
Will my files (I.E word, paint, winrar, folders containing small games, etc.) not work at all?

All files can be transferred, but not programs.

Some few small application 'might' work just copying to the new system and creating a shortcut.
Word/Office? Not a chance.
MS Paint? Included with the OS already.
Settings? Maybe, if you want to spend literally weeks digging through the Registry and trying to create, duplicate, and edit whatever keys are necessary.

All your personal files? Images, music, video, etc? No problem
Applications will need to be reinstalled. No way around it.
