Hi, I have certain software installed. I have setup of some but one or two are missing. If I have to re-install windows I have to download them from internet. But now their updated versions are available which have bugs and are not as good as the older ones. Is it possible to install those softwares on new harddrive from old one without having their setup just from the existing windows on old hardrive. one of such software is ytd downloader . I have installed version 3.9.6 but it is not available on net now . they have updated it to 4.8 which people say is not good as the old ones due to increasing changes. I don't have setup of the old version. what should I do. seconldy is it possible to make image of all programs, softwares and windows and install on new hardrive (1tb wd) and they work as they are on old 500gb.

More about : set software

You cannot transfer programs by simply copying their installation directories from one machine to another. There are hundreds, if not thousands of registry entries associated. Without installation media you will be unable to reinstall your desired program.

An image is just that, an exact copy of the existing system. If you are having problems that require a reinstallation, an image of the problem system will simply restore the same system, problems and all. The "Windows Easy Transfer Wizard" can be used to migrate program settings, data, and user profiles. Programs themselves, however, must be reinstalled.
