I have a quick question about gaming and IP addresses. A game I am going to start playing has a restriction of 1 account per IP address. I would like to two-box this game(2 accounts on 2 monitors on same computer).
I know that I can set up another IP address on my computer, my questions are these:
- would that degrade the connection with a game that is hindered by high ping?
- how would I "switch" between the different IP addresses to a)download the game, and b) use the IP specific launcher to launch each client?
I don't think it can be done. Even if you had two network cards with different IP addresses, your router would NAT them and only your public IP address would be exposed. You would need two internet accounts or a business class internet account that provides you with more than one IP address.
