Great build for the price, I would avoid overclocking due to the motherboard and power supply. Besides that, A great rig!

How many watts do you recommend for this system aside from 700w?

PS: We are not oc'ng.

600W-650W (good Quality PSU), that will also have watt headroom.

recommended is always overkill, they do that so you have absolutely enough watts. That card can run off a good quality 520W PSU.

great choice!, as long as OC is kept as not a huge factor, you'll be set.

Thank you sir! But I have some couple of questions.

1) Will the FX 6300 bottleneck with R9 280X in heavy games like BF3, BF4, AC:IV etc?
2) Are those PSU calculator websites are accurate if you want to choose check you watts?

no, the FX 6300 will not bottleneck a R9 280X, in any game to date.

The PSU calculators are accurate, Though I am 100% positive the Corsair VS650 is easily enough.

for gaming, option 1 is better as the Graphics card is the most important decider in gaming performance. It goes like this for gaming performance; GPU>CPU>RAM.

If Rendering/3D/2D/Multitasking plays a crucial role, number two is better.

Just for everyday use like surfing etc and especially for gaming.

You think she can record her gameplay by using DXTory without dropping the fps or she needs to provide one more HD for the storage of recorded videos?

Depends on what games you plan to play and whether or not they will benefit from the 8-core CPU. Most titles will be fine on an FX 6300, especially if you overclock it a bit.

Whichever CPU you get, put it on a quality motherboard. You don't need a 990FX chipset unless you plan to go dual GPUs for Crossfire/SLI.

A good 970 board for overclocking either of the CPUs you are considering is this: Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P It has 8+2 phase power regulation and good BIOS support for voltages and overclocking. I recently got an FX 6350 stable to 4.95 GHz with a liquid cooler.

With a decent air cooler, like a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, and you can usually do 4.4-4.5 GHz on near stock voltages for BOTH the FX 6300 or FX 8320. This will be plenty for gaming.

Sorry to say that Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P is not available here in the Philippines. :/  any other board?

If you go option 2, keep the 990FX, if you can't get the 970A-UD3.

Is option 2 better than option 1 when it comes to gaming? Because that is the reason we are building.
