Spec:
Asus p5q motherboard
Intel core 2 duo e7400 2.80ghz OC'd to 3.5
Msi amd radeon R9 270 OC
12gb ram
320gb Hitachi hard drive
Win power 700w power supply
I was stress testing my GPU with the msi afterburner app and the temp was getting pretty high (80) so I decide to shut it down but before I even touched it the PC just went off and now when I press the power button there is power for under a second and the fan starts to turn then just powers off, the green light on the MOBO is on and I have tried removing everything and starting it but it won't work, after looking on the internet for a bit I got the idea that i might have shorted the computer? Any help appreciated thanks
Hayden

Update just tried it with nothing but enough to boot and still nothing but got small shock from the PC case when the power was on

More about : possibly shorted

1) Try the paper clip test PSU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixcWCrYpw3Y
2) Remove the battery to clean the CMOS.
3) set up the system out side the case and test it.

nope..

the psu died..

80c for a gpu is still in the margin of safe operations.

Your cheap psu probably died. Replace it with a better quality unit and hope it didn't take anything with it.

Yehh thanks I found out that it was the psu after all, I'm not surprised it's a cheap one, I was build by a company about 6 years ago, thanks for the replies everyone
