Which is better, and why?

Hi, I am to buy a new motherboard and processor, but this thread is mainly to get the perspective as to which motherboard is better.
The purpose is gaming. The two boards I am looking at, and wanted to ask about are ;
ASUS MAXIMUS VII HERO
and; ASUS MSI Z97M GAMING.

Which is the better?
If it makes any difference, I have been told that the Devils Canyon processor would be what I should aim for, but that was when talking about the Z97M board, will that processor also fit the Maximus VII? :)

Yes, Devil's Canyon K models are due out soon and will work w/ either mobo, and I'd wait for them, they should run cooler and OC better than the original Haswells. On the Mobo, the Z87 Hero was my choice for my Haswell build and the best Z87 mobo I worked with (did 20 Haswell client builds before deciding on it for mine), and to me i was a no-brainer to go with the Hero for a Z97 build, and glad I did, it's even better than the Z87 version, have a 4770K in it while waiting for the release of the DC K models....Ocs better, handles even faster DRAM, runs cooler, great mobo. If looking for a Micro formfactor, would look at the Asus Z97 Gryphon (though think the Egg is already sold out at the moment, should have more in a week or less)
