i have crucial 8gb ram and i am thinking of getting the corsair ram. can i use booth of them at the same time or will i have to take one out?

Solution
Mixing DRAM from different packages, may or may not work, there's never a guarantee - even with the same exact sticks. If you try and have problems give me a shout and we can try adjusting timings and/or voltages which often will get them to play nice

if you cant find the exact same 8gb module you valready have you can buy any other brand. try to find same specs.
also you need another 1x8gb in order to run in dual channel mode.apart from the increased capacity you will have a boost in performance too!

Depends on which Vengeance and which Ripjaws (they have RJs, RJ X and RJ Z)...but with most any, if talking same freq and same basic timings, I'll generally go GSkill, overall with most of their models they tend to have more OC headroom which is indicative of stronger ICs on the given sticks

Of those two, I prefer GSkill sticks, but in this case would go with the Corsair, it has the tighter CL9 vs CL10 - But (there's always a but), rather than go single stick for 8 GB, I'd suggest 2x4GB so you can utilize dual channel and the performance increase it provides (unless of course only have a single slot

Yes the NTs are their value line and have been around a long time, the fact that they are still around lets you know something of the high quality even the value line has...if they were crap sticks like many of the basic/value type sticks they never would have lasted ;) have used a lot of those for upgrades

How do things run currently? 8GB is often enough for many if not most folks...if you see lots of blinking of the Harddrive LED when you are say, browsing the web, that can mean you have a lot reads/writes to the page file and it's an indicator you may need more DRAM, out of memory error messages, things like that
