The issue is the following, when moving around the house I get connected to my router or repeater, but as soon as i move to another area I get connected but cannot access the internet, is there a confirguration problem? This happends with all my mobile devices.

I have a TP LInk router and repeater and they have the same SSID and disable HDCP on the repeater.

I am using static IP, but the problem remains if I used Dynamic one.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hi it is a dedicated router, I have this one: 150Mbps Wireless N Access Point TL-WA701ND.

It is weird, because it works fine. For example if I am in my room where the repeater is and i connect to the network I can use the internet without a problem, then when I go to the living room where the the router is I get connected but cant access the internet or VISE VERSA... it is not just with the repeater, not sure why is that... I cannot roam inside my house with my mobile devices...

Any idea? Thanks

Did this setup ever work correctly, or did it never work once you setup the repeater?

Just to make sure, the repeater is not connceted to your primary router in any way besides recieving wifi signal and rebroadcasting it, correct? If it is connected via an ethernet cable then it would be classified as an access point and not a repeater.

Being an access point is actually the better configuration. A repeater has to split its bandwidth between comunicating with the primary router and then talking to the device; it is bassically like being forced to call one person to give them a long message, and then that person call the recipient to relay them the long message instead of just calling the recipient in the first place. If there is to many obsticals to run an ethernet cable from primary router to access point you can always use a 500mbps powerline adapter which will be more stable then wifi can be.

Hi it is a repeater, as I mentioned the network for both have the same SSID. As it is just optional to have better connection in my bedroom I prefer not to use cables, so which is the other option I could use?

Anyway, my problem is not the speed of the connection or the range, my problem is that when I connect to one then I have no internet in the other as I move around... what am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

Kind regards,
