Which thermal paste is better?

Solution
Arctic Silver 5 is generally considered to be one of the best, granted thermal paste makes little difference in the ends of it. Temps are generally only 1c-3c apart between thermal compounds. It's really the ease of use you want to look at, like how the paste spreads as well as whether it's conductive or not.

I'd go with the slightly cheaper AS5, but some people might differ.

Arctic Silver 5 has higher thermal conductivity at 8.7 W/(m·K) vs 5.3 w/(mK) for the Antec. Arctic Silver 5 has a very long history of very good performance as well. I don't know as much about the Antec stuff but I'd probably be ok with using either if I didn't still have half of the syringe of AS5 that I bought almost a decade ago.

Here's a review from someone who used both: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1670561

Yeah, man. The sentiment here is right. They won't make much of a difference when properly applied, but Arctic Silver 5 is generally considered to be the "better" one. I'd just get both if I were you because it's so cheap. The Antec is more available and convenient, so you can use it now. Also order the Arctic Silver 5 online, and you can replace it if you want. I was actually in that same scenario previously, and I just bought both. There was a small difference in temperature, which is good but nothing to write home about. The main upside is that the Arctic Silver 5 works a little better for less money.

Okay, thanks for the recommendations! Right now, the stock paste is having a max temperature of around 65°C in games, and around 40, maybe a little less on standby. It has me thinking, do I even need new paste? Most people say the stock stuff is bad and it should always be under 60 degrees, but is it worth it anyway?

Thanks!

If you're not planning to overclock then you don't really need to replace it. The stock thermal material is just fine for regular use computing.
