Hey guys,
I built a PC 2-3 weeks ago with the following specs :

CPU : i5-4670K
MB : MSI-H87MG43
CPU COOLER : NOCTUA N9HB
HD : 1TB Seagate Barracuda
PSU : Corsair CX600 (Non-Modular)
GPU : EVGA GTX 780 SC ACX Cooler

This is my first ever build. Im pretty happy bout it.
Ive got a few problems that im really hoping all you experts can help me with.

1) The motherboard and the case. The motherboard is an MATX board. There are only three plugs on the motherboard that are meant for the fan i think. And my CPU Cooler already takes up two of them so i used the other one remainingplug for the other case fan at the back. Im buying two fans for the top and front. So where do i plug them ? Do i have to buy anything ? And suprisingly this case does not come with the top filters which means yes i do get lots of dust :( Im really new to this.

2) The PSU. Ive connected everything to their respected components. Ive connected it to the Motherboard,GPU. But why are there so many unused cables remaining ?Am i doing something wrong ?

3) Connecting the plugs. I dont know if im connecting the plugs in correctly because as far as i know isnt the mobo supposed to make a beepsound at first start ?

Ive been using it for three weeks now. There hasnt been any problems for me. I just feel that i have an uncomplete system.
All this is new to me. I hope you guys can teach me how to fix my problems. I did this on my own because i dont have much friends who actually game :/ . Any help is appreciated.

Thanks !

1: It sounds like you will have two front and 1 top fan after all said and done. connect those to the PSU (adapters may be required)

2: there are extra cables because this is not a modular PSU and they want to give you lots of options.

3: yes it should beep once to indicate a good system check - but you will need to read your motherbd manual to see what gets connected to where. Some motherbds have a built-in system speaker and some require an external speaker gets plugged in.
You should have already plugged in the 24pin power connector located above the sata ports
and the 4 pin cpu power connector located above and to the rear of the cpu socket (next to the blue heat spreader)

edit: I did not see a built in system speaker for your...

1: You can get a Y-type splitter that will allow you to plug both fans' cords into a single header on the motherboard. Alternatively, You can use a 4 pin molex adapter, which would plug into one of your extra power supply cables.

2: It's ok to have unused cables from the power supply, it's pretty common. Of course, one would want to make sure you are using the ones you need, but it sounds like you are.

3: If you didn't connect the little speaker to the motherboard or maybe you connected it backwards, you won't hear any beeping. Or maybe it didn't even come with a speaker. That would explain why you aren't hearing a beep.

Thanks for the quick reply. I dont suppose you would know anythingabout fans setup ? haha because ive heard of this intake and exhaust thing going on. How many fans do you have as air intake for your setup ? Ill be haing five fans all together then. Two top , two front , One back. How should i set them up for best cooling ?

You can either have positive air flow or negative air flow in your cabinet.
Positive air flow:- more intake than exhaust.(causes comparatively more dust in cabinet).
Negative air flow:- more exhaust than intake.

another point to consider while setting up fans in cabinet is "hot air rises up". So generally people tend to set top fans as exhaust so it goes with the natural flow of the air.
You can try different configurations and record temperature to check which configuration is better.
I use 2 top fans along with rear fan as exhaust and another 2 fans(front) as intake.
