Reoccurring computer problem. Possibly CPU?

I'm getting fed up with my computer lately. If I try to play any game, no matter what the resolution, it will go black after a couple of minutes. At first I thought it was the CPU. I did some independent testing, and came to conclude that my GPU was bad. I was wrong. I don't even know what's wrong anymore. Which is why I'm coming to you guys! I personally think it's a CPU overheat. I have a widget that shows CPU performance. CPU is represented by a circle with grey and white shades within the circle. The more grey showing, the cooler the CPU. Usually, the white would only shade in about 1/32 of the circle. Today, before I started a game, the white area was half shaded in, at only 2% usage. That strikes me as very odd, and it leads me to think that my CPU is overheating. What should I do to further test my problem? Would you recommend extra fans?
Any feedback would be great! Thanks!

Ill try that as soon as I get the chance, but in the interim, the build is still a baby, so dust accumulations are minimized.
Could you clarify OC? I'm unfamiliar with the terminology.
And as far as drivers go, I have the latest for my NVidia GTX 770.
Also, I have an intel i5 quad core 3.4 MHz processor.

Mainboard- 114 degrees celcius (Min- 112, Max-114)
CPU- 34 degrees celcius (Min-32 Max 75)
TZ00- 28C (Min 28 Max 28)
TZ01- 30C (Min 30 Max 30)

Over the past couple of days I've concluded that the mobo temps are much higher than they should be, but I'm still in the troubleshooting phase. I'll keep you posted.

That is way too hot!! Do you have proper cooling for your system? (Probably a silly question)
My MOB runs at around 25-40C. Make sure the NB and SB have enough cooling.
You may need to reapply the thermal compound to the NB and SB.
Before you do anything use your warranty.
If you got a warranty RMA the MOB.
Those temps are out of control.
Water boils at 100C.

Check the temps in CMOS/BIOS to make sure the program is working right.

MOB = Motherboard

SB = South Bridge

NB = North Bridge (Chipset)

Check the MOB and see if there is burn damage.

I've disassembled my build. The mobo seems intact. I don't see any burnt or pitted points.CPU pins are intact (Checked for good measure). I did find a small streak of stray therml compound on the mobo itself. No clue how this occurred, but I hear it could effect the mobo tremendously due to its conductivity.I'd like to also note that this problem occurred before I reapplied the thermal compound

Can't say at the moment. I think my mobo just crapped out. It simply gave up on booting. I may request an RMA asap. I'll try again later, and if the pc boots up, I'll let you know my CMOS temps
