Thanks for taking the time of yall's day to help me.

So as of right now, I am running a dual-monitor rig with an FX-8350, and a single 7870 2GB GPU. I would prefer to be getting a couple more frames than what I currently get (only about 40FPS on high on BF4), so I was thinking of getting a second 7870.

However, when looking at my PSU, I realized I don't have enough 6-pin power connectors for a second GPU, so I asked my friend who has built quite a few computers about adapters to make a second 6-pin, he said that while GPUs come with an adapter, they pose a fire hazard. How true is this? If it isn't, would my 600w Cooler Master PSU be enough for a second GPU?

Thanks!

Your "600W" CM PSU, particularly if from an "Extreme..." line, is not suitable to Crossfire a pair of HD7870s.
http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Cooler-Master-eX... is typical, showing an all around bad unit, not good for more than 450W.

Alright, thanks, I actually have a Cooler Master Extreme 600w, so that is good to know.
