Gpu not fitting properly.

I recently bought an MSI r7 260x but when I went to put it in the case it would not fit. It seems that the metal plate hits the motherboard before the card can be secured into the pice slot. The only thing I can think of is to either cut the metal bit off (don't really like the idea because I really do not want to accidentally break the gpu) or bend the metal (also not ideal). Are there any other ways of making it fit, or are those my only options?

Thanks.

(the piece is no longer bent. I put it back in place)

Solution
It should work, make sure the teeth are properly aligned with the slot and the push down a little until you hear a click, dont force it too much. Don't cut the metal, if you can bend it a little do it, but theoretically it should fit without any problems.
