Hi Guys

I have the Lenovo Ideapad Z500. It runs the Normal Intel HD4000 with an added Nvidia Geforce 740M. In my Bios I had the option to put it on switchable, which I did, otherwise it would just run on the normal HD graphics.

So when I launch a program, I click right mouse button and say launch with the 740M.

However I started playing BF4 online, and because it launches via my Google Chrome, It feels as if though it is running through the HD4000. If my BF4 settings is set to low, I only get like 35-40 fps (v-sync off), which i feel is way too low and when certain games are launched, like AC Black Flag, it shows the pre launch screen with your specs, showing the HD4000 graphics even though I ran it with 740M.

My question is, is there a way to switch of the HD4000 graphics completely, I don't care about power consumption, my Laptop is on power most of the time, so the Graphics card can run as it pleases or at least get BF4 to run smoother?

Also as extra info:
The laptop has 8GB of Ram
1 TB harddrive
1366x768 display

Thanks

Solution
You cannot completely disable HD graphics in laptop because it's the only native GPU that connected to the screen and your 740M runs just as graphics co-processor, You can do some research about graphics in YouTube :)
