Ok so I recently got a new computer build, my specs are:

Intel Core i5-4670K Processor:
Corsair H80i CPU Cooler:
Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H Motherboard:
EVGA GeForce GTX 770 Graphics Card:
8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 Memory:
120GB Samsung 840 Series SSD:
1TB Western Digital Caviar Black Hard Drive:
750W Corsair TX750M Power Supply:

I was really excited to get into playing some PC games after I got the build but I noticed that I would get severe lag spikes after a couple minutes of playing a game. Some of the games I played: CS:GO, Metro Last Light, and Borderlands 2. The games seemed to run fine on high graphical settings (all between 40-60+ FPS) but soon started lagging. I figured it could be a problem wiht my graphics card, so I returned it and got a new one, installed it...... SAME PROBLEM. Games seemed to lag, regardless of the game (all of them lagged) or graphical settings. Its most likely NOT my GPU as it is highlyl unlikely id get two defective products in a row. Im no tech guru, so messing around with my hardware or going into my BIOS to tweak things isnt my field of expertise. can someone please help me with this, and please give very specific answers because im tired of posting threads like this on multiple forums and coming to dead ends, its quite an annoying problem. My best bet is its my cooling: something is being overheated. If you need any additional details please ask.

BTW my OS is on my SSD.

if reapplying the thermal paste doesn't solve it, try a different cooler. a stock one will do if you haven't overclocked the CPU. if that keeps the temps reasonable, then your H80 is probably obstructed or faulty.

While idle my GPU gets about 31 C, when playing its between 50 to 60 C. My CPU gets to about 90 C to 100 C when playing games.

yeah the h80 is cooling my CPU, so i replaced the default CPU fan. Can the h80 be used to cool anything else? Its just that the tubes with the liquid were attached to the part that goes over the CPU so i dont know how to set up the h80 to cool my GPU per say.
