I just got a new setup and I'm interested in overclocking it but I'm very weary of blowing out my system. I looked around a bit to see if the MoBo+CPU combo could handle it but I'm getting a lot of mixed signals. Handful of people say go ahead, handful say no way. I'd just like a more clear solution. I'd even be willing to only use AMD Overdrive Auto-Tune if need be.

I would not recommend overclocking on that motherboard. It has poor VRMs/thermals.

Also stay away from auto-tune.

A workaround would be to keep the stock clocks, but modify the turbo power state in AMD Overdrive. This way it's not over drawing your motherboard nearly as much as a conventional overclock. It's more complicated, but much safer.
