My friend and I are going to build a computer at the end of the summer, here is our current parts list.
Case: Cooler Master HAF 932 Advanced - High Air Flow Full Tower Computer Case
Power supply: Corsair RM 1000W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K Haswell 3.5GHz LGA 1150 84W Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics
Motherboard: ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Video Card: EVGA 06G-P4-3799-KR GeForce GTX TITAN BLACK 6GB 384-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 SLI Support Hydro Copper Signature Video Card
Sound card: Asus Xonar D1 24-bit 192 KHz Sound Card
Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit)
Monitor(s): Asus VK248H-CSM 24.0" Monitor/Asus VE198TL 19.0" Monitor
OD: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer
CPU cooler: Corsair H60 54.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Total Cost: $3109.05
How is this looking? Do we need to replace some parts for zero bottlenecking? You can take out the sound card if you need for your suggestions as well. I am concerned about how well the motherboard and Power Supply will perform as of now as I realize the Titan Black will take a lot of power. I also believe he already has those two monitors so you can ignore that part. Please include keyboard and mouse if you have suggestions. Thanks!

Titan has a 250W TDP same as 780 and Ti. You could power that system on a 600W quality PSU. But for a 3K+ budget, I'd be looking at a 2011 build with a 4930k and a 780Ti. 6GB vram card on a 1080p doesn't make sense at all, unless there's a 4k monitor somewhere.

Stick with the 4770K, 6 cores is overkill for gaming. For cooling, go with the H100i, 105 or 110 (depending on the space available).
Stick with the Black, it's the fastest single GPU card around (today). Looks good otherwise.

Last thing, all of this is just my mildly informed opinion, but I would also skip the sound card and get a USB D/A converter into your amp. Asynchronous USB D/A converters like AudioQuest Dragonfly, HRT Musicstreamer II, etc. generally provide superior sound quality--if that is of importance to you.

You say 6 cores is overkill for gaming, but you're running an 8 core cpu yourself.

Yeah, but it's not an Intel, it's an FX 8350 . . . and I suffer because of it. On a core/core basis, Intel kills AMD, as I'm sure you know. :)

A 4770k or next gen (if it's worth it) is on my "to be done" list."
