I have a NexStar CX external HD, and that accidentally became disconnected. (It fell about three feet, but on a soft carpet.)
I reattached, and its blue power light is on, but now I can’t access its data. It’s not showing on the drives.
The computer is a Lenovo Win7 laptop; Intel Core i3-2370M CPU.
I’ve attached other external devices, and they show up – but this one won’t.

Hi,

Try to connect it to a different computer using a Y-cable USB connector and see if it is detected there. Or you could simply try removing the hard drive out of the external enclosure and connect it directly to a PC via SATA.

That's not good.

Either the enclosure is broken, or the actual drive is toast.

Well I tried it another computer, still no luck. When removing it from the second computer, though, I also removed the jack directly from the device, too - and noticed it seemed kinda stuck. I blew it out, plugged the jack back in, then reattached to my computer and ... voila - it reappeared!

Change another USB interface and try it on your computer again. But, the result may be not so optimistic.
Next time, you should always use your drive carefully and also make data backups well.
