Hey guys!
I have an old PC. Whenever I try to turn it on, the PC gets stuck at the BIOS menu thing, I can't press Delete or Tab since the keyboard is fully unresponsive, but the Number Lock light lit up. The motherboard is an old Asus P5G-MX.

My specs:
Intel Pentium Dual Core E2180
1x1GB RAM
GT 210 1GB GPU
Hitachi 160 GB HDD

I have disconnected everything from the USB ports, tried removing and inserting the HDD cable, removed and reinserted the CMOS battery. I'm kinda helpless now. :(

Any help would be appreciated! :)

Hey!

I removed the HDD's wire which connects to the MoBo, and my MoBo booted up just fine. But when I connected it again, it got frozen again. So I inserted Windows 7's disk, and while the setup was loading I connected the HDD and MoBo together, and the partitions were shown on "Where do you want to install Windows". But when I click next it shows "Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition. See the Setup log files for more information." It also shows "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu."
I'm kinda confused now. :/

Hey bro!

I figured out the problem, I went to the BIOS menu, selected my HDD and then changed "LBA/Large Mode" from Auto to Disable, and then I deleted "System Reserved" partition in the Windows 7 setup, and after that I restarted my PC and hurrah! It allowed me to install the OS! :D

Yeah, and hey since I'm kinda new here, is there a way to mark this thread as Solved?
