So I have a new card coming in the mail and I need to go ahead and order in a new PSU. Will this PSU I have selected be compatible with my computer?

I've had issues before where the PSU was too big or it was a very tight fit and I don't want to have to deal with that again. I also have no idea if the right cables come with that PSU or not.

Also just in case there might be something wrong here with the card i'm getting i'm going to put the link to what that is here too. Will this card be compatible as well? I'm actually getting the card from a friend so if anything needs to be changed I'd prefer it be the PSU.

Installing a new power supply in the HP cases is always difficult even with a modular power supply.

The power supply can easily power that video card but you can get the bronze version for the same price after rebate: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-100b1050... The bronze version is a couple dollars cheaper at NCIX even with the $11 Shipping.

Ummm.... so that didn't really answer my question. The question is: does my computer have everything required to use this PSU?

You are lucky, your HP motherboard uses normal power connectors so you can use that PSU with your motherboard, and it will fit in your case. Go for the 500B linked to above, its cheaper and better.

The GeForce GTX 645 (OEM) graphics card should be compatible with your system's motherboard.

Sorry, I had forgotten to mention that I own 3 HP desktops and that installing PSUs in them is quite taxing due to the tight squeeze. The most difficult thing for me was locating the 4 pin CPU which is one half of the 4 + 4 pin CPU connector on the new power supply.

Caution: confusing tips and instructions below.

Gather the 20+4 ATX connector, the 4+4 CPU connector along with SATA or MOLEX connectors that you need, untangle them at the end going into the psu and bundle the rest of the cables flatly and put them in the empty optical bay BEFORE inserting the PSU into the PSU slot. I rested the PSU on top of the side of the optical bay while I organized and arranged the cables

I removed the optical disc drives from my HP towers since I never use the optical drives and that left more room for the PSU cables in the drive bay.
