Hey there,

Okay so I recently bought a R9290 and it came with two DVI slots which I initially thought wouldn't be a problem because I already had a DVI to VGA converter. When I tried to put everything together I learn't for the first time that there is a difference between DVi-i and DVi-D. This is because my Graphics Card has two DVi-D slots, while I have a DVI-i to VGA adaptor. Anyway I was wondering if there was anyway to get a DVI-D to VGA adapter, or am I going to have to get a new monitor.

Thanks in Advance.

Edit: Okay so I hooked it up to my HD tv and I was running at 1920 x 1080. The issue is now that I tried to run a multiplayer session of BF4 and my computer red screened, booted down, and it refuses to start up again. Also I ran several games prior to this including Crysis 3 and BF4 Campaign, there sees to be no reason it shouldn't be working. Any Solutions??

Solution
If the DVI port does not send out a analog signal then that adapter will not work. A DVI-I port sends both digital and analog DVI-D does not. Best bet would be a better monitor.

I am having the same problem trying to connect a second monitor (by means of vga to dvi connector) to the exact same card. When I do so, the primary monitor which is connected hdmi, shuts off. I am at my wits end....
