I recently check the pricing and spec of new motherboards and realize the spec of the gigabyte z97 force motherboard seems not better than z87 one.

The new one even doesn't come with m.2 interface like another mb makers. the 2 models has the similar pricing after rebate. should I buy old gigabyte z87 force featuring better heatsink and accessory?

Thanks smorizio! I saw a new that the new broadwell cpu indeed will release in the 2nd half of this year. I will look at its performance, If there is not too much performance gap, I may stay with gigabyte z87 force or another z97 motherboards. saving more money or getting m.2 interface.

it's not a big deal of having no m.2 interface. few m.2 ssd are available.

The only thing I don't understand is why such a hi end board has DVI/VGA output.

picking z87 force could be a right option without killing your wallet

alright. I found detailed spec about its board from a review

it's disappointing that there are only 8-phase VRM on Z97X force....

The GIGABYTE Z97X-SOC FORCE features an 8-phase VRM cooled by a long, semi-narrow heatsink bearing the Ultra Durable branding. Wait, did I just say 8-phase? Yup, an 8-phase VRM. GIGABYTE has taken note that the Z87X-OC held much more market than its FORCE brethren with its meaty 16-phase VRM
