i5 3570k vs i5 4670k

Solution
The 4670K is newer and a little faster, the 3570K is older but OCs better and is still a viable option, I think I'd go 4670K and pair it with a newer Z97 mobo which will leave an upgrade option to the 4690K or 4790K down the road, or even the Broadwell CPUs when they come out in the future...The 3570K (1155 socket is pretty much a dead end)

Get the 4670k. The only thing that the 3570k benefits more is from it's integrated graphics at 650Mhz vs 350Mhz and can overclock a little better. If you have your own dedicated videocard then no question, get a 4670k - newer technology, better performance in most applications, lower wattage, higher thermal limit, SSE4, AVX 2.0, etc..

Will also help 'future proof' you will Intel's Broadwell CPU's.

Yes but as I mentioned, for Broadwell will want a Z97 mobo, the Z87s won't support Broadwell
