Hello! I have a Lenovo G505 laptop with AMD A4 1.5 Ghz Quad core and it has listed 2 video cards - 1 is AMD Radeon HD 8330 and other one is AMD Radeon HD 8570M 1GB (2nd is dedicated) and it came this way when i bought it! So when i tried to launch some games it started to lag (games that are supposed to run on high graphics... then i went to dxdiag (direct X diagnostics) and found out that my pc is running on the Radeon HD 8330 (which is baddest video card) Is there any idea how to switch the video cards occasionaly or permanently? Appreciate all sorts of help!

It might be that you dont have a 8570M as your laptop can be ordered without the card. If you don't see it in the device manager, chances are you don't have it. In the Catalyst software (AMD graphics utility) you should be able to select which graphics card you use from a drop down list.

It's in the catalyst software suite. You can switch it from there and can alo do hybrid xfire(i think).

Also in AMD Catalyst Control Center --> System info it shows both video cards are installed and ok! (im new here so i dont know how to add screenshots)

On the system tray on desktop,

Right click on the battery icon then select change power option, set it to high performance.

Try with the games again.

I allready did put my battery power settings to high but still nothing! For the Bios - there is only 2 options for graphics cards and that is UMI (i think) and the one i have selected is switchable graphics cards but that doesnt help at all!

If the power option is set to high performance, then plug the a/c adapter then play the game.

If the problem persist, update your gpu driver
If still happening, lower the graphic setting on the game.

Thats it.

Well if that other video card would switch on then i wouldnt need to lower any graphics in the game but it isnt switching.... there must be a reason for that video card to exist in my pc... Plugin' it to the charge doesnt change anything..! If someone is feeling brave enough we can do TeamViewer and see the main problem itself!
Oh and here are the pictures to prove that it has 2 graphics cards! And both are updated!

Check the laptop manual if theres a physical switch on the keyboard to switch graphics cards

Or run a game then alt-tab, run dxdiag.

Check that first.

You do have the switching utility installed right? You absolutely have to have that installed for this to work. Also is it plugged into a power outlet? Thats also a must.

Either download or redownload and reinstall the switchable graphics. Make sure you get it from your laptop manufacturer and not AMD themselves.
