I have an AMD A8 6600k Black Edition.
I have been doing temperature benchmarks for the past couple of days.
My CPU seems to have the following readings. I am using stock cooler.

Stock Cooler
Idle : 58*C
Load: 72*C

Ambient Temperature: 39*C

I am worried about temperatures as manual states that maximum safe temperature is 74*C.

Please tell me. Is this OK considering ambient temperatures. If not, what can I do to lower the temperature?? Except from buying a new cooler??

You should see thermal margin for the CPU. Third party software show incorrect readings for AMD CPUs

As of now, Thermal margin is fluctuating. Maximum it goes to 60*c and it is minimum at 6*c???

Fluctuating in idle?
Thermal Margin is the difference between max allowed temp and current temp. So higher is better.
That means you are only 6 AMD units away from the max temp limit

My PC is at idle i.e only running AMD overdrive. When frequency drops to 1800 something MHZ it is at 60C but when it increases i.e 4100Mhz thermal margin is just 6C...what is happening??

Are you changing something in AMD Overdrive? Don't touch any of the settings. There must be some background process running for the clock freq to go up and down like that

I am running a game in high settings in the background to test my thermal margin and from what I have observed is that it is something in between 6C-15C
What to do?

6 is kind of low. Have you seated the CPU cooler properly? Else you need to get an aftermarket cooler

I think so. But I will again open it this weekend and apply new paste to see of there is difference. My CPU fan also seems to be running like a mini turbine with so high RPMs.
Will an aftermarket cooler solve the problem?

Almost everyone with an AMD CPU gets an aftermarket cooler. A nice cooler like CM Hyper 212 Evo should lower the temperatures a bit

^+1^, that's a really good one. You should definitely get that or something like it; The stock cooler is not meant to be used on ambient temps of 39C.

Thnx a lot guys. Well 6C is really low on gaming. Need a new cooler then.

To give you some idea, my A10-6800k reports 70° thermal margin idle and 30° under load, using an aftermarket cooler (CM hyper TX3, the evo 212 is too big for my mATX case)
