Windows 7 pro is stumping me when it comes to formatting.

in this case : I have a usb flash drive

I went to format it, and instead of the fat32 i am used to seeing, it says exfat. what is exfat? is that a new flash drive file system?

Now the format also wants to know "allocation unit size" I have never heard of this. There is so many options from 4kb to 32gb!
What is allocation unit size and what should be used for a 64gb usb2 flash drive?

Solution
the first major difference between Fat32 and exfat is the file storage limit, Fat32 is limited to 4gb while exfat is limited to 1 million TB, as for the allocation size I do not bother messing around with it and leave it at the original settings and have never had any problems.

my USB flash drive is a:
Cruzer Blade 16gb

Oh yeah, I forgot that Fat32 has a major flaw where the files will fragment a whole lot faster than files using exfat
