Please read my incident carefully. my GPU IS NOT OVERHEATING. I REPEAT, IT ISNT OVERHEATING. Because it shuts down at 27 deg when i last saw it. Subsequent tests show gpu also shuts down at any temp!

Ok so i used to game a lot on my r9 270 and everything was fine. Then i didnt game for 1 month or so but i decided to come back. First i played civ 5 on a very huge intense map. Then suddenly, the GPU shuts down and the monitor has no signal BUT the system is still on(i can hear sounds). I tried reconnecting the cable but no use. Then, from then onwards, ANY GAMES I RUN will cause the GPU to shut down!

Additionally, if my system goes to sleep and i wake it, the monitor WILL NOT TURN ON as the GPU HAS NO INPUT!

Additionally two, when my gpu shuts down, i can hear the fans go full speed.

I have a MSI radeon r9 270 i bought in december. The fans are working fine, drivers updated, temps not over 30(because it shuts down when i turn on a game....)

I DONT KNOW WHY IT SUDDENLY WENT LIKE THIS. I bought this gpu for witcher 3 and watch dogs. 1 month ago i can game fine and i did not change anything during that time.

Also, my CPU core temp and HDD and ram temps are fine too.

So i suspect could it be that my PSU is failing? Too much voltage pumped?

I have an Antec neo eco 520w which is SUFFICIENT enough for the card.

It does sound like a power issue to me as it's when the graphics needs more power it stops displaying. You are right in saying that you have sufficient power, you have plenty. It could be a fault with the card itself, might be worth trying your old card if you still have it to identify if it definitely is the GPU. If it works then it's the GPU but if it's not then it could be the PSU.

I hope this helps

i read similar issues on the net that says the entire system shuts down and the gpu goes out of input. Turns out that the PSU is giving out too much watts or too little. A replacement of the PSU fixed most of their problems. So i presume it is my PSU and it does make sense too because my PC isnt overheating /.
