I think that because my processor (AMD 8120 8 core 3.1 GHz) is overheating and causing my entire system to shut down without warning. i have recently installed a GTX 760 zotac and a GS 600 psu and my mother board is an asus M5A78L-M USB3 with 16gb of patriot ram, the monitor i am using is a samsung 21.5" s22c150n. before i installed the new parts i had no problems what so ever with my system. i am not totally sure it is the processor overheating but it feels etremely hot and i have no idea why so any help would be appreciated greatly.

thanks in advance for those who help.

Reboot your system. If you are using a desktop system press a key like DEL or F12 to enter BIOS (Basic Input Output System). Look for terms and phrases such as "PC Health" or "Monitor". This depends on your motherboard. If you don't know this download CPU-Z, and it should tell you. Looking at the speed of your CPU, it looks like you don't use your PC for checking the occassional email or surfing the web, but photo and video editing and high-end gaming. Sometimes, if you play extreme games, your PC may not be powerful enough to render the graphics or process the game. Out of intrest, how old is your PC?
