Hello,
I have been thinking to buy an HDD (Seagate Expansion STBV2000100 ) for backup and I have heard that many external drives have an integrated USB controller which has a high failured rate and it cannot be replaced as it is "welded". Therefore, I was advised to buy an internal drive and put it in a case. Is that true? Is this HDD safe? If negative, I'll get the WD Caviar Green WD20EZRX or Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001.
Thanks,
