Hi!

I am looking to build my first gaming PC. I want it to be able to handle next-gen games (like Arkham Knight when it comes out (I know you can't know specs needed)). I am only willing to spend £600 (£700 if I have to) and I don't mind Intel or AMD.

What parts should I buy? Thanks in advance.

Sorry to all that have replied but I saw on Can You Run It that 3GB of Graphics RAM is recommended (not needed) so should I worry about this?

You'll be getting Ultra/Max in the first one at 1080p easy, and the second one will get you High/Ultra easy

Has an OS but no monitor, I've gone a different way about it as the FX 6300 still fares well in gaming, besides you can buy an 8350 instead. I have included an SSD, you can always witch it for a cheaper, less capacity one. I highly recommend having an SSD as it give noticeable speed.

3GB of Graphics RAM is recommended by Can You Run It (not needed) for some games so should I worry about this?

''Can You Run It'' doesn't provide the right information about requirements, do not use it as a 100% proof for future requirements.
Example: My i7 and R9 270X are rendered below minimum requirement for BF4 on ''Can You Run It'' and yet i get 80+ FPS at 1080p resolution on High Settings.
As i said, if you don't need the Monitor and the OS, you will be able to build much better PC.
As for your question does 2GB is enough, yes it is enough for today's games playing them at 1080p resolution, especially the R9 270X or GTX 760. 3GB of VRAM will give you some headroom in the future, like R9 280X or GTX 780
Bottom Line: You need to be sure about your budget and do you need OS or Monitor, so other members here can provide the best hardware for your needs and budget.
Cheers.
