On-Board Sound Died

I have a question regarding my audio not playing.

I am using my on-board sound with ear buds. My home has a lot of carpet, so when I walk around I get static electricity. On my ear buds, there is a small ring of metal around them. When I am putting them back into my ear after sitting down, I get a small shock. One day the sound stopped working after it shocked me one time. Is the on-board audio fried?

That shock might have damaged your Mobo, try to RMA your mobo to see if the manufacturer replaces it.

That won't work, the warranty is expired. Plus i'd rather see if I can find out whats wrong before buying a new one
