hey guys,

So ive been experiencing a weird problem the past couple of days. Whenever i first use my computer for the first hour or so, everything is fine. But then after awhile, the framerates becoming really choppy and theres an apparent lag. This happens whenever im playing games, or even watching HD videos. Is there any particular reason as to why this is happening?

Specs:
i7 4770k
Asus Z87 plus motherboard
8GB DDR3 Ram
EVGA 750ti FTW

Solution
No, that is not hot. Possibly the VRMs on the board are overheating. Take the side of your case off and point a common household fan into it while you are playing. If this alleviates the problem, you may need to add fans to your case, particularly in a manner to create flow, not just a bunch of fans. Otherwise, reset your BIOS to defaults to make sure something isn't running with elevated voltage. If you've overclocked your CPU, back it down some.

Have you checked the temps on your CPU and GPU? they could be overheating and throttling back, since the problem doesn’t start right away, but after the computer is running and has time to build up heat in your case, that could be a problem.

hey, nothing exceeds 50 degrees when gaming, is that considered to be too hot?
