Fun single player PC games?

I'm looking for a new single player pc game to play. I've scoured the internet, looking at "best/top pc games" lists and still can't seem to find anything interesting that I haven't already played. I've played way too many things to list but some of my all time favorites are:

Mass Effect 1, 2, 3 (my favorite games of all time)
The Witcher 2 (not interested in playing the first one)
KOTOR 1, 2
Dragon Age Origins and 2
Fallout 3 and NV
Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim
FTL
GTA IV

genre isn't really that important to me as long as the game is fun but I do seem to lean towards rpgs. Replayability would be a huge plus. I've tried Planescape and Baldur's Gate 2 but I can't get past the graphics. I know people say the games are amazing but I really can't stand the dated graphics. Like I said, I've played tons so just list some of your favorite PC games and maybe I'll find something. Thank you.

More about fun single player games
  1. Dark souls is pretty fun for me but it is tense and plan on dieing a lot. Also Batman Arkham City is pretty fun but more of an action game with a slight rpg element.
  2. Mechwarrior 3, assuming you have a Win98 machine floating around somewhere....it'll run on WinXP too though.
    Descent 3 & Descent: Mercenary, again Win98/XP

I don't have too many recent games that I really like a lot.

I never got the hype surrounding Dark Souls. I don't find dying a bunch of times to learn how your enemies attack a fun experience at all lol. To each his own. I've beaten all the Arkham games and yes, they are awesome. Can't wait for the next one in the series.
  4. Have you played the Civilization games? They are all pretty fun if you enjoy long play sessions and strategy elements.

Yup, I played Civilization V for a long time.

Have you played Kerbal Space Program? It's pretty fun if you like building rockets and launching little green men to their deaths into the vacuum of space.

I'll give it a try. reminds me of Gary's Mod which was fun for a while.

I'll give it a try. reminds me of Gary's Mod which was fun for a while.

The developers released a NASA Asteroid Redirect mission a while back, so that added some fun new diversions, and there are a TON of mods available to keep things fresh for a while.
  9. If you enjoy Civ5 you might like Sins of a Solar Empire. I have sunk about as much time in that as I have in Civ5, and I don't have to deal with any of that pesky "diplomacy" getting in the way.
  10. Wolfenstein, the new order is a great game, shame it uses 50GB! HDD space though

The recent 'Tomb Raider' reboot was surprisingly good. If you like space games then Sins of a Solar Empire series is worth a look.

Also a nice free game worth a play if you like story driven space shooters- Wing Commander Saga (http://www.wcsaga.com/). With that remember as soon as you load it to change the campaign to the 'prologue' as that has all the training missions that teach you how to pilot the ship, as well as the first part of the story. The graphics are nice although the capital ships are quite basic as they're derived from the original Wing Commander 3 models. Still if you get on with it, the game gets pretty epic towards the end with huge fleets involved in some large scale conflicts and the voice acting is really well done :)
