Hello all,
I've encountered a problem and am in need of assistance.
I recently got a new laptop due to the fact that my old one had some serious problems (I didn't take care of it too well). The problem started on the old laptop, it would blue screen often and eventually it got to the point where it would blue screen when trying to boot. I have since taken the drive out of the computer and placed it in a cheap enclosure, thinking that I could simply plug it in and transfer the data. This, however, was not the case. Whenever I plug the drive into my computer (running windows 8) the computer immediately blue screens, stating "Page_Fault_in_Nonpaged_Area (NTFS.sys)" I have gathered that running chkdsk would likely be a good route to go, but the problem is that I cannot even have the drive connected without the computer crashing! If anyone could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it. There are a lot of photos and much music on here that I do not want to lose.
Thank you
Edit: I just saw all f those stickies and I'm sure his question has been asked a million times over, sorry if I'm cluttering this forum. I will read through the stickies now.

You can try downloading a Live version of Linux like Ubuntu and burn it to a disk, boot from the disk (With the external plugged in) and then try accessing it that way? do you have any linux expereice?
