I have a Dell XPS 8100. There are 2 hdd's in my computer set up as raid0..no more empty drive bays available. Is it possible to remove the primary hdd and replace it with an ssd? If so, would they have to remain in the raid0 setting...meaning 2 drives operating as only one. Any help anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Don't do that.

SSD + HDD in a RAID 0 is the worst of both worlds.
The speed of the slowest, with 2x the size of the smallest.

You can get mounting brackets to put an ssd over an empty pci slot? All depends if you have another sata port open

But dont raid your ssd with a spindrive, it will criple the ssd's performance while in the raid.
