I recently purchased a Evga Nvidia 750-ti superclocked.

I am fairly new to upgrade my computer myself, but I checked everything and it looked compatable.
If you note in that link, the power supply minimum is 300w. I had also double checked all the stats at the Nvidia website.

Also I double checked the power supply requirements for my card I'm upgrading from.

At this point if feel confident and order the card. When it arrives I notice on the box it says it requires using a psu that has a minimum of 400w. Now I don't know what to do and don't want to buy a new power supply unless I have to and even the. I don't have any idea of how to buy a good one and install it. Do I need a new psu? Which information is correct?

Your 300 watt power supply should be able to run it , it's a low power draw card.
