Hello, I'm building my second PC for heavy gaming at 1440p (Star Citizen) and work (level editing with Unreal Engine 4), and I was wondering if my build is good.

I already have my case, which I'm recycling from my old build, my 1Tb hard drive, also reused, and another 2 sticks of ram, making for a total of 16 gbs.

The actual total is $3900, but I included the parts I already have marked under purchased.

I think it's way overkill. If you really want to spend that much money, go for a LGA 2011 hexa-core processor and a quad-channel ram kit. Tri-sli is just really over the top. Most games you will get more frames than it matters, other games you will get an extra 5-10FPS for your 700$ third GTX 780ti, because the technology simply isn't there yet.

You should build either a 4770K or LGA 2011 system, with dual 780ti at the most, with a reasonable 200$ motherboard

Alternatively wait for devils canyon to come out, which should be faster anyway, and go that route.

I like it, except for the micro atx motherboard (yuck - just a preference). If you are buying new ram get 2x8GB, but if you already own that 8GB kit you might as well use it for now - it may be some time before games benefit from 16GB, although it's in the foreseeable future.

You should get a better PSU too - seasonic/xfx are the best.
