I've tried to do it from my bios but it doesn't support OCing (it's an older HP DC5750) Is there any software than can get the job done? I've tried multiple programs such as Set FSB, Clock Gen etc. I was able to OC it to 3.2ghz with clock gen but that doesn't really make much of a difference with higher end gaming. Thanks in advance!

first gen dual core athlons don't OC that much anyway. Your biggest problem is you are trying to OC on a OEM motherboard. The only way to do it is to buy another mobo, but thats pointless as these CPUs don't oc that much anyway and even if you get to 3.4 for example the architecture is slow and you won't see many benefits.

Higher end gaming and Athlon X2 6000 don't go together. There is no point in trying to overclock the system as it will still be slow.

Replace the entire system if you want to play any game released in the last few years.

I've been able to run most games I've thrown at it (i.e. BF3, Crysis 2, Wolfenstein: The New Order, Bioshock Infinite, etc). I've lost hope with OCing it, anyway.

Alright, thanks for clearing that up! I've been attempting to OC it for awhile now and now I know it won't work haha
