Wow, that was fast.....thanks guys.
Going for a better vga is true since I was eyeing for a gtx 750, but it doesn't fit my budjet...:(
But would I need 8GB of RAM?? I thought the recommended specs were only 4GB...

what is your budget?

Only need quotes for Motherboard, CPU, VGA and RAM...
Best if below $336 for these 4 parts...

this would work on your $336 budget....

but i really think if you can stretch your budget out, you would be much better off in the long run with an fx6300+r9-270....

can you give me the basic comparative difference between your suggested CPU, motherboard and VGA with the one's I planned on buying?? Sorry, but I have ZERO knowledge on non-intel and non-nvidia items...:(

well for general all around, the i5-4570 is better than the fx6300. but the fx6300 can be overclocked (4.5ghz-ish) if you add an additional $30 cooler master hyper 212 evo heatsink, and at that speed would be comparable to the i5. the x4 760k definitely slower than the fx6300, roughly 20-40% depending on the work load.

the x4 760k isn't really a long term cpu, and i highly advise against using it unless you absolutely have to. thats why i recommend either doing nothing, or going with the fx6300. the gtx750 is a decent little card, but its going to struggle in higher resolutions in more modern graphically heavy games.... but it would work....

the r9-270 linked before will have no problem at 1080p in all games made, most in ultra/high, and only a small handfull of games where you would have to drop a few key settings to medium, but those settings wont take much away from overall game play.

at $412 i would extremely recommend the fx6300+r9-270 with the ram and motherboard i had at $416. if gaming is your primary concern then that is what is going to give you by far the best performance all the way around. the i5-4570 is definitely decent but the fx6300 is not that far behind and in regular desktop apps, itunes, IE, firefox, any MS office apps, etc. even in light video/audio transcoding, your talking a difference between 20 minutes, and 23 minutes, nothing that makes your day a breeze. your never going to be able to tell the difference. what you will be able to tell the difference in is the performance increase of the r9-270 over the gtx750 as the difference is huge. the r9-270 will offer very good 1080p gaming in any game available today and likely most games released in the next year. the gtx750 is going to struggle at 1080p in about 20 of the heaviest games known today like crysis 3, ac4, bf4, tomb raider, metro ll.... etc. if your trying to max out hitman absolution at 1080p, the fx6300+r9-270 is going to do it. intel has some great products and in the much larger budget bracket there is no reason not to go with intel.... but people go with the 4670k+hyper 212 evo=$260, or higher tier cpu since they can be overclocked plus a higher tier gpu so were talking over $600 with mobo and ram. in your budget range with the parts you already have, there is no question the fx6300 is for you and paired with the r9-270 they will offer you very good performance in all games for a few years to come while the gtx750 is more of mediocre/casual gamer gpu.

but since you asked for it, and im not going to recommend it on your budget..... here is a $412 budget with the 4570.....

even at $16 more, its not going to come close to an fx6200+r9-270, and your eventually going to want to upgrade.

get the fx6300, its a great budget processor that offers loads of performance for much less than what intel offers price wise while allowing your stretched budget a very capable r9-270.....
look at its battlefield 3 fps....

vs the gtx750.... they dont actually have a gtx750 review, but the gtx750ti is about 15-20% more powerful than the gtx750...

down the road you can add a cooler master hyper 212 evo for $30 and easily overclock to 4.5ghz +/- .1ghz for a noticeable overall performance increase.

if you really want to save money but get very good performance like im telling you, you can go with an xfx r9-270.

im pretty conservative when it comes to brands.... but when it comes to graphics cards, i prefer evga, sapphire, msi, gigabyte or asus. that said, xfx is a less common brand, but that doesn't mean they make a crappy product. actually they rebrand some of the highest quality seasonic made power supplies known in the computer world that are near the highest possible quality, and they are a legitimate company. there is no reason to distrust them and their version of the r9-270 is very trustworthy, brand new with a good warranty.

AMD CPU's do not yet support PCIe 3.0. There's only one board that I know of, and I think it kind of cheats. You don't need to worry about this, though. Any PCIe 3.0 card will work in a PCIe 2.0 slot. My GTX Titan Black is as fast as ever in my PCIe 2.0 slot. And I completely agree with nikoli707 on everything he has said so far.

Save up and get the FX-6300. You will not be sorry. And for the graphics card, I would get either the GTX 750, or save up a little more and get the 750ti.

Ok nikoli707...I'll go for your $416 quote....I guess I was a bit prejudiced about moving from intel and nvidia to something else due to my lack of knowledge on them....Thanks man....
However, the r9 270 requires an alternate power supply...which my current PSU will definitely not support...:( I need a low cost alternative...
P.S. I'm in Srilanka, hence our supply voltage is 230V
