So I have had my pc running for a few weeks now no problem but I had this problem where my monitor says DVI no signal. I fiddled with some wires and it worked fine. Same thing happened the next day and I was able to get it working. Now today same problem but now I'm not able to get working. I have unplugged then plugged back in just about every wire. Any suggestions on what I should do.

Just about every wire in my PC so I'm havering trouble pin pointing exactly which one is the problem. Besides the PSU cables going to the graphics card are there any other wires that would not be allowing my monitor to receive a signal

a loose atx one or the 24 pins even a hdd or dvd drive one could also be a bad memory module or pu fan not well connect ,if you have onboard video remove the gpu and see if you have signal i would check all cable connector one by one and memtest the ram .

Hi.
Sorry to hijack your thread, but I have similar problem, so I though I would here.
I built new PC, only case and PSU remaining from the old one. When I plug my monitor in VGA, it works great, but with DVI, I get 'No signal'.

Here are the specs:
AMD Athlon(tm) X4 740 Quad Core Processor
ASRock FM2A78M-HD+
MSI R5450 (Radeon 5450) with Radeon drivers
Codegen 400W 300X (PFC)
OS: Ubuntu Linux 14.04 LTS
Monitor: AOC i2269vw

What I tried so far:
- Installed AMD proprietary drivers, installed Windows with drivers included with graphics = NO CHANGE
- Plugged monitor to another PC = WORKED
- Plugged graphics to another PC (with same monitor) = NO CHANGE
- Plugged graphics to another PC (different monitor) = WORKED (this one was tested in the shop where I bought the graphic card)
- Replaced PSU (with TechSolo STP-650) = NO CHANGE
- Replaced DVI cable = NO CHANGE
- Flashed BIOS = NO CHANGE
- Used different monitor = WORKS
What could be causing the problem?
I have another problem, but I don't think it is correlated: My OS would freeze occasionaly for few seconds, then work again. This was happening with my previous PC as well, so I replaced HDD, with no change. If this is of any help.

@ pok1yoyo if you use this OS: Ubuntu Linux 14.04 LTS then you need the ubuntu driver and not the windows one .

Thank you for your reply.
Yes, I am aware of that. I installed windows separately just to test the windows driver. It doesn't work either, so I believe it's not the drivers problem. On another computer, it works straight from boot, no matter OS.

EDIT: Tested with another monitor (LG Flatron w2252tq) - works like charm.

Now this is really confusing, both PC with graphic card and monitor seem to work fine (when used separately). I tried monitor on laptop with DVI to HDMI adapter and it didn't work, but I may need to tweak it a bit to work.

it could be the dvi to hdmi adaptor that is defective could you try only the dvi .

No. Adapter is OK, works fine with other monitors. This monitor doesn't work with or without adapter.
PC I am trying to connect has both DVI and HDMI and it doesn't work with either. I used the adapter just to test on laptop, which doesn't have DVI.
