Gigabytes z97x Gaming 7 vs Maximus Vi hero?

Which motherboard should I get for i5 4670k? The z97 board is 40 dollar cheaper than Maxi vi Hero.

Yes, I'd go the Antec between the two, the Corsair uses cheaper Caps, in that range also is the SeaSonic S12II 620 Bronze for about $70, which is a very good PSU

I'd go with the Hero (I've got both a Z87 and now a Z97 Hero), wasn't real thrilled with the GB Z87 mobos, think the Rock mobos were better and not thrilled with all the Gimmick advertising of calling their mobos 'Gaming', like MSI before them they are trying to pick up sales from from the long running Asus ROG mobos, even down to imitating the the Red/Black color combo. Asus had the best handle on the Z87 and imagine the same will be true with the Z97s, from the improvements I've seen on the new Hero

It's going to be your call ;) all we can do here is offer our advice, what I normally have clients do is set a budget, then fill in the parts and if anything in particular you want - like say a 770, then see where you can trim without really affecting overall performance, and often the mobo is a good spot to trim with

The Maximus is the beast between those two, but when you can spend the money for extra gpu power go for it. The gpu will effect the overall performance, the motherboard won't. Both motherboards are solid, so you're good with either one of them.

On the HD the Blue and the Black are basically the same drives but marketing to different audiences, both are 7200 RPM, generally 64MB cache etc, both are great drives, I generally look Blue as they are a little more inexpensive...and Seagate has good drives also

Haha XD lmao I did not realized that. For some reason I thought black was faster/better than Blue. Thanks man! Saved me 20 dollar
