Okay, so recently my old HDD begins to die. Whenever I play a game, It makes clicking noises and restarts my computer without any prompting. So, I came to the conclusion that it's dying and I need a replacement. So today I bought a 1TB Seagate Barracuda HDD to replace my old one. I installed it correctly, but now I don't know how to make my old HDD into a pure storage. I want everything to run off my new Seagate HDD but I don't know how to configure it. I know i'll need to reinstall Windows onto my new harddrive so that's what i'm doing at the moment. After everything is installed, do I simply format my old HDD? Or is there something in Disk Management or in the BIOS menu I have to mess with.

thanks in advance!

Solution
just install windows on your new hdd and usually you dont need to do anything to the old one.just set the new one as boot drive in your bios.that having been said, the old drive doesnt sound too healthy and might not be a good place to store anything you dont want lost.if you have nothing on the drive you want to keep then format it and run a healthcheck on it with the manufacturers software to see if its even usable.
