what is best for extreme overclock

Hi all ,

I AM building a rendering machine .. just confuse between motherboard..

Which is best motherboard

Asus Maximus V1 Hero
OR
Asus Sabertooth Z87

My Machine spec are
Processor - i7-4770K
Chassis - cosiar 400r
power supply - cosiar vs650 watte
SSD - 120 Gb Kingston
Ram - 16 gb ddr3 .1600mhz g skill
Graphic card - Asus NVIDIA 750 ti 2gb
Cpu cooler - water cooler h 100i

Please Suggest me good one...

Basic difference

Hero is aimed more towards gaming and higher overclock of both cpu and memory. It got many extra features for gaming. 3 year warranty

Sabertooth is all-purpose motherboard with aim to maximum stability and durability, have superior monitoring of motherboard. Can overclock but probably wont go as high as hero or other gaming motherboards. 5 year warranty
Also sabertooth Z87 is more expensive (about 15%) than Z87 hero.
In case of Z97 Sabertooth mark 1 is about 15% more exensive and mark 2 is about 20% less expensive than Z97 hero.

Both are quality boards and depending what OC you aim for both may be able to do it.

Z97 feature newer intel chipset which should be superior in many things. One of those should...

after do some google search i find some questions.

*what is the basic difference between Hero and sabertooth series.
*what is the basic difference between Z87 and Z97 (although Z97 not launched in india now )
*i m not a gamer , i m using this machine only for rendering so its hero is better than sabertooth.

Z87 vs Z97
Z97 feature newer intel chipset which should be superior in many things. One of those should be better support of OC and mainly suport of new devil canyon and broadwell. Both z87 and z97 should support haswell-refresh (guess z87 may need bios update).

Which to choose is hard to say. If you do not care about gaming features of hero, you can get sabertooth but if it get to OC you want I don't know.
