Hi
i have a dell pc with two graphic cards, an external sapphire graphics card (default) and an inbuilt one..
recently while cleaning my external graphic card got damaged and since then i have been using the inbuilt one. the inbuilt one has only a DVI and an HDMI port, i have been connecting the monitor with the DVI cable. It works fine in normal mode but when i try to enter windows in safe mode, the monitor disconnects. what could be the problem?

HELP

Solution
So your on your internal video card now (ext is broken and removed) with DVI and HDMI, but your using DVI. When reboot into safe mode the DVI doesn't "work", I believe the issue is because in Safe Mode you use VGA video settings / drivers, that the output is below the monitor's range that is connected via DVI. I have seen this happen, that a 800x600 display or putting out 59Hz doesn't appear on a some monitors that can't "produce" those low frequencies.

Have you tried either A) get a HDMI to DVI connector or (better yet) B) just use HDMI? Most monitors do come with HDMI connections now as it is universal. DVI only is better if your looking (like myself0 for a 120Hz Monitor as PC HDMI can't produce above 60Hz.
