I have a question for everyone regarding performance, percifically for getting Very high or high on Arma 3.
I already have 1 GTX 650 but considering i completely switched to a FX-8350 black edition @4.7ghz from a previous intel build, im kind of ocd about having nvidia inside an amd machine.
My question is, Would i be better off getting one R9 270x Msi 4G , or another R9 card that is cheaper but x2.
My budget is around about 350.
Im Australian Based btw.

Current Specs
AMD FX 8350 Black edition 4.7ghz
8gb corsair ram
Sabertooth r2.0 mobo
Asus GTX 650 2gb

If anyone has the R9 270x , i would love someones opinion on it!

The 4G model just has 4GB VRAm but the card can't really fully utilised the extra 2GB so you would never really see a huge performance increase form the 2GB model.
The 4GB model is only viable if you run multi monitors or plan to crossfire them.
But I personally prefer a single gpu over dual.

There is no problem running Nvidia hardware in an AMD machine (that's my rig). Still if you want something I'd reccomend getting the fastest single card you can- as dual cards (from either company) tend to run into issues like stuttering, and many game engines don't even support dual cards at all. It would only really make sense if you wanted to add a second GTXD 650 (as they are quite cheap), and Nvidia SLI tends to be a bit more reliable than AMD Crossfire (although AMD has recently added a hardware crossfire system much like Nvidia uses on its R9 290 + cards).

If you're going for a single card, can't go far wrong with the R9 270 (personally I don't think the X version is worth the extra is it's exactly the same card, just clocked slightly higher), or if you can stretch to it the R9 280 is a very powerful card (saw it on sale for £190 which is very reasonable on www.ebuyer.com).
