Hey everyone,

recently I was using my PC and the screen just went black. I reset my PC and after the windows
logo loading screen, it just goes black.

So I reset again and started in safe mode and uninstalled my GPU, and reset again and it starts fine.
But when I shut down I have to uninstall the GPU again so I can start my computer normally next time. If I don't, I have to go through the above process again.

It's becoming quite frustrating, I tried to disable on-boards graphics, to no avail.

It was working fine, then one day just stopped.

you know Gigabyte are notorious with this black screen issue, I know it is an issue with this card as the R9 280X/7970 are mainly effected. You will have to replace the card in order to get rid of it.

Everything tried should have fixed it if it were software/placement issues.

Try resetting your bios to default setting and reboot.

If that does not work re install windows again and install AMD drivers.Keep backup of your C Drive in os setting option.

You can search for other solutions but these 2 worked for me.....

I tried to reset bios, still just loaded to a black screen.

I don't currently have my OS disc, so hopefully there is another solution.

It just stopped working in the middle of playing a game.

I uninstalled the GPU, used the AMD cleaner utility, removed catalyst etc, and restarted using the onboard graphics card.
It's started fine when everything was uninstalled.
Once I was back in again I reinstalled catalyst and restarted my PC again.

GPU fans were going etc, and thought it was all good, but once again after the Windows logo loading screen, it just goes black.

This is just randomly started whilst playing a game, and PC crashed.
The whole PC configuration is probably 8 months old.

"will" is not always the case.

once the above is done and same issue persists, I strongly suggest you try another PCI-E X16 3.0 slot, see if that helps.

if you have done any overlocking, make sure you reset the card as this may also be contributing. After it is solved, then try OC'ing it again.

I changed it over to a different slot, still to no avail.

My card can be seen in my device manager after I disable it in normal mode.
So I update to latest driver, and it requests to restart, I don't restart because it just does it again.

It has a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark (Obviously because it needs to be restarted).

But when I restart, with the updated drivers, it will just hit the black screen again.

I've looked over this site, and maybe a handful have had the same problem, but none have resolved the situation, not in writing anyway. :////

Ps; No overclocking has been done.
