Hi guys!
I bought an Asus H87I-Plus last month because I found it for $80. Asus released the H97I-Plus this week and I am wondering if I should sell my motherboard I just bought and buy the H97. And one last question, if I do end up keeping the H87, could I use a Haswell-E CPU in it?

Cheers, Jake

Keep the H87. There won't be much difference to the H97.

Haswell-E works on X79/LGA2011 platform, not lga1150

OK, thanks. Isn't Haswell-E the same thing as Haswell refresh?

So will the Haswell refresh work with the new chipset?

That's what the Z97's were made for. But Z97 also works on Haswell without refresh

Yes - just use the board you've got. Unless you're buying a 'k'k suffix cpu for it. The you need a Z board - 87 or 97
